Integration, Protection, Security and Organization are the basis of the Stowe 2-in-1 Toolbox and Tonneau Cover system. Previously we shared aspects of integration, protection and organization. But what about Stowe system security?
Compared to a standard toolbox, the 2-in-1 system is less likely to garner unwanted attention. Unlike a standard toolbox, with its prominent, tall and blocky design (that announces valuables are inside), our low-profile design doesn’t call attention to itself. Cargo is more secure when thieves aren’t aware it’s there.
The materials and components used to produce the 2-in-1 Toolbox and Tonneau Cover system were chosen for security.
Rather than featuring a soft cover, or other easily breached design, Stowe’s 2-panel hard cover design incorporates a composite sandwich panel and aluminum frame construction to protect and secure cargo.
Automotive grade Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) certified locks and latches are used on both covers. Rigid strength testing has been conducted on these mechanisms to ensure the design and quality parameters meet this standard. Further, the latches are “jimmy proof”: An OEM security designed shield surrounds the latches so they can’t be opened with a shiv or “jimmy” inserted underneath the cover.
The strikers to which the latches mate are produced with automotive grade materials and anti-corrosion coatings for strength and corrosion resistance. A “button” resides at the end of the striker so that the latch can’t slip off if the cover if a thief is attempting to pry the cover open with extreme force. Again, a design used by automotive original equipment manufacturers.
We at Stowe Cargo Systems strive to provide the best cargo security for our customers. The security features of the 2-in-1 Toolbox and Tonneau Cover system have been carefully engineered to reach this goal.
